Celebrating Mandela Day 2018

To impose on them a wretched life of hunger and deprivation is to dehumanise them.” Nelson Mandela In celebration of Mandela Day 2018 on Wednesday 18 July, the Peninsula School Feeding Association (PSFA) partnered with the following wonderful companies to pack snack boxes for one of our after-school feeding programmes: : Fine Music Radio Inc. (FMR) FMR hosted a special event in the Marble Foyer at the Artscape Theatre Centre, where their staff and listeners joined forces with the Artscape staff, musicians from the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, dancers from Cape Town City Ballet, Jazzart Dance, singers from Cape Town Opera and other people from the performing arts industry who gave up 67 minutes of their time, to pack 816 snack boxes. FMR presenter, Rodney Trudgeon interviewed our fundraising manager, Charles Grey. Sygnia Group The staff at this asset management company’s head office packed 600 snack boxes and donated R25 to PSFA for each box that was packed. The staff at their branches in Johannesburg and Durban also supported this initiative by donating virtual snack boxes at the cost of R25 per box. Our director, Petrina Pakoe did a presentation on PSFA to the Sygnia staff.
